REOMZ
The mechanical engineering association of HCET, REOMZ conducted its first anniversary on 14th February 2013 at HCET. Various social and cultural activities were coined in this event in association with NSS cell of HCET. The detailed reports of the main events are as follows:
Blood Donation Camp:
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by the Principal Dr.S Pushpakumar, HCET at 9.15am in the seminar hall by lighting up the lamp, in the presence of HOD ME, REOMZ association secretary and staff in-charge, NSS secretary and staff In-charge and all mechanical students. Blood donation camp was successful with 53 donors in male and female. Refreshments and lunch were arranged for all the participants and co-ordinators. The blood donation camp was continued till 12.30 pm.Free Eye Check-up camp:
With the support of Ahalia Eye Foundation, Tvm, REOMZ conducted free eye check-up camp for public and HCETians. Around 200 people participated and about 15 people were referred for free Cataract surgery at Ahalia Eye hospital. The event took place at HCET main building from 9am to 1pm.Cultural event at ‘Thripadam’:
As a part of social activity mechanical students organised cultural programs at “Thripadam” Charity home at Nedumangadu containing about 75 inmates which require_once differently abled people, orphans, aged etc. REOMZ also sponsored lunch for all inmates and in-charges at Thripadam.Auto-expo:
For the first time mechanical students organised an auto expo show casing different variety of two wheelers and four wheelers. All types of engine parts and motor alterations were exhibited and explained at the event. The expo was inaugurated by Mr. Saji SJ, AP ME at 11.45 am. To support the event Traffic awareness bus was parked at the campus to make the student aware of the traffic rules and safety precautions in the road.
